Every parent wants their child to grow up happy and healthy. However, parents have become more and more frustrated with the epidemics of ear infections, ADD/ADHD, asthma, frequent colds, and many more severe health challenges that children deal with today. Studies at Columbia University have shown that the average child loses 70% of his biological potential by the age of seventeen. Clearly, our children are not as healthy as previous generations, but what is causing these epidemics?
Doctors have recently identified a condition that may be responsible for many of these healthy challenges. This condition is call Traumatic Birth Syndrome. This occurs when the force of delivery exceeds the capability of the infant’s neck and spinal cord to with stand injury, resulting in interference in the child’s nervous system. Dr. Godfrey Gutman, medical researcher, discovered that more than 80% of the infants that he examined shortly after the birth process were suffering from injuries to the cervical spine that resulted in all types of health problems. Dr. Eric Plasker of the Traumatic Birth Syndrome Research Foundation states, “The neck is an area of the body where you cannot afford to have an injury remain uncorrected. Since injuries here can affect the brain stem, all the vital functions of he body are inhibited. Traumatic Birth Syndrome, whether it results in immediate symptoms or diminishes your human potential over the course of your lifetime, must be dealt with immediately.”
A Boston University pathologist demonstrated that there is severe spinal damage to the infant as a result of the “usual” birth process. “The real cause of our demise is not diseases, but the spinal stress that happens at birth. This robs us of our innate potential for a very long, very healthy, and very happy life. The child will have less than optimal physical, mental, and social well-being. The birth-damaged child carries the seeds of premature death with him at all times.”
Fortunately, Traumatic Birth Syndrome is easily detected and easily corrected in the hands of the trained Wellness Chiropractor. Sophisticated computerized neurological scanning equipment can safely detect disturbances in the child’s nervous system as a result of Traumatic Birth Syndrome. Once detected, the nervous system can be easily balanced back to optimal function in most cases. The health benefits can be enormous for the child and a great relief for the parents. It is recommended that a child be examined by a Wellness Chiropractor shortly after birth.
